The Beginning
Harold Costrvanil, a master craftsman with a vision, opened the first Costrvanil Tools shop in a modest Birmingham workshop. Starting with just a selection of hand tools and a commitment to quality, Harold believed that every craftsperson deserved access to the finest tools available.
First Expansion
Growing demand led to our first major expansion. We moved to larger premises on Toolmaker's Lane and introduced power tools to our range. The decision to focus on quality over quantity set us apart from competitors and established our reputation among local tradespeople.
Recognition & Growth
Costrvanil Tools received the Birmingham Business Excellence Award for outstanding customer service. This recognition coincided with our expansion into industrial equipment and the establishment of our professional consultation services for large construction projects.
Digital Revolution
Embracing the digital age, we launched our first website and began offering online consultations. This move allowed us to serve customers across the UK while maintaining the personal touch that had made us successful in Birmingham.
Sustainability Initiative
We launched our Green Tools initiative, partnering with manufacturers committed to sustainable practices. This programme helped customers make environmentally conscious choices without compromising on quality or performance.
Education & Training
Celebrating our 30th anniversary, we opened the Costrvanil Training Centre, offering workshops and masterclasses. This facility became a hub for craftspeople to learn new techniques and stay updated with the latest industry innovations.
Innovation & Adaptation
The global pandemic challenged us to innovate rapidly. We launched virtual consultations, contactless delivery services, and expanded our online presence while maintaining safety standards. These adaptations helped us serve customers better than ever before.
Today & Tomorrow
Nearly four decades later, Costrvanil Tools stands as a testament to British craftsmanship and innovation. With over 10,000 products, 25 expert staff members, and customers across the UK, we continue Harold's original vision while embracing new technologies and sustainable practices.

"When I started Costrvanil Tools in 1985, I had a simple dream: to provide fellow craftspeople with tools worthy of their skills. Nearly four decades later, that dream lives on in every tool we sell and every customer we serve."
